It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our colleague, Jo Himsworth, on Sunday, 23rd March 2025, following a short illness.
Jo was deeply loved by everyone at Parkol, her radiant personality brightening even the most difficult days in the office.
She joined Parkol in the summer of 2017, working alongside the late Esther Oliver in Accounts. Before that, Jo had a long and dedicated career as a nurse, both in the NHS and in a private nursing home. She later made the bold decision to embark on a new path, retraining as a bookkeeper. Her help was invaluable during the Covid-19 pandemic when Esther was no longer able to continue working. Amid the whirlwind of recruitment that followed, Jo remained our constant, doing everything she could to keep Parkol’s books in order until our current team was established.
As we broke for Christmas and New Year’s last December, we never imagined that Jo would not be returning to work. She fell ill over the holidays, and sadly, her condition progressed to the point where there was no cure.
Everyone at Parkol is devastated by this news. We send our heartfelt condolences to her husband, Trevor, her sons Simon and Shaun, daughter in-law Siobhan and her grandson, Jacob. You are all in our thoughts during this difficult time.
Jo’s funeral will be held on Thursday, 10th April, at 12:00 noon at Kirkleatham Crematorium.
