On Monday 29th June Parkol team were incredibly proud to launch Milestone of Salcombe, the new harbour workboat built for Salcombe Harbour Authority.
The vessel’s name is especially fitting.
This project has been 16 years in the making, and the launch day marked the culmination of years of planning, determination and collaboration to bring this long-held vision to life. It has been a privilege for Parkol to play our part in turning that ambition into reality.
Designed by Walker Marine Design, Milestone of Salcombe has been built with the future in mind. Every aspect of the vessel has been developed to provide safe, reliable and efficient service for many years to come. A successful workboat isn’t simply built for delivery day – it’s engineered to perform throughout its entire working life, delivering value to its owners and the community it serves.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Cameron, Marcus and everyone at Salcombe Harbour Authority on reaching this significant milestone and thank them for placing their trust in Parkol throughout the project.
A special thank you also goes to Walker Marine Design, our suppliers, and, of course, the entire Parkol team. The skill, commitment and craftsmanship shown throughout the build have been outstanding, and Monday’s launch is a testament to everyone’s hard work.
We look forward to completing commissioning and sea trials before seeing Milestone of Salcombe begin her service in one of the UK’s most iconic harbours.
