Project Details

Steel-hulled motor fishing vessel of round bilge, transom stern, bulbous bow, soft nose stem and rigged for scallop dredge fishing, with dredge tipping doors and catch handling conveyors for 18 dredges a side. 

Below deck she is subdivided by four watertight bulkheads into: steering gear compartment, engine room, hold, store and forepeak tank. Aft deckhouse for combined galley and mess, accommodation, washroom, lobby, oilskin rest area and split winch rooms, with wheelhouse over. 

Main deck working area has beam trawl gantry braced of deckhouse, catch conveyors and dredge tipping doors incorporated into bulwark sides, workshop forward. Catch handling is arranged on the open deck. Whaleback forward with fore mast and trawl winch sheaves and anchor arrangements.

Based on design of ‘Alcedo’ (Yard No.041) and built for the same customer, Halcyon’s specification is slightly different.
